Just finished today in time for another art show application. It is frustrating when the online process has glitches which won't let you upload your images. I had to improvise and use other paintings for consideration since the technical people didn't get back to me. The deadline is today! I hope it works out!

Meet Macallan. A very adventurous puppy. I had so much fun painting this commission. The reference photos my client sent me were adorable. It is obvious this lil guy is loved and living the good life! I love the rabbit trails I get to travel as an artist! I get to meet great people and get to see them enjoying life! Talk about inspiration!

"Cact-ASS" © "JoyEful Party Animals" TM was finished just before an art competition deadline tonight. I originally was working on another painting for the competition, but it sold while it was in progress on my easel. That painting was titled "Still Wet Behind the Ears"

"Still Wet Behind the Ears" © "JoyEful Party Animals" TM was adopted before he was finished. He is drying out before he can go to his new habitat. I'm really loving painting on primed panel. It shows every brush stock which forces me to pay attention to the details. It takes longer to complete with building up layers.
The sweet donkey is a rescue donkey in the Scottsdale area. The background is a combination of my backyard and my hiking trail on Pinnacle Peak.

I loved painting all of this cute fuzz and the eye of the bunny. It is a 9x12 oil painting on primed panel. It is very different from painting on stretched canvas. I find painting on primed panel requires patience and attention to the fine details. The surface is very slick. I have to paint in multiple layers to build up the depth of fur, background and foreground perspective. Every brushstroke shows up on the panel. My tiny detail brushes got quite a workout on this painting. It looks like I will be ordering new brushes!
I can't wait to see the custom frame by my talented framer and friend, Ron! Here is the link to adopt these peeps. http://joye.fineartstudioonline.com/workszoom/2367904
