Arizona is full of surprises. The weather in Scottsdale can go from beautiful 70’s to a miserable 115 quickly. We even experience temperatures in the 40’s with snow! One of the surprises up Arizona Nature’s sleeve are Argentine Giant Cactus (Echinopsis candicans) the gorgeous huge blooms open at night and last about 24 hours.
I started out calling my prayer petals painting. I thought it would be a zen studio time painting. This one was a hard one to paint. By the end it had me swearing! That is how it got its title Bloomin’ Arizona.
