A small 8x10 new JoyEful Party Animals Adventure.  “Wild Zzz-Zen Tea Party Dream” ©JoyEful Party Animals®  This is a glimpse into my crazy dreams.  I don’t ask why...I just paint what I experience and my dreams. (I know...it can get scary in my head). I thought this was going to be a quick painting...in my dreams!  You would think I would have learned by now painting zebra stripes cannot be rushed!  I even had a migraine or two while painting this one. So much for a fun little painting to take a break from my  big detailed paintings. The teapot, tea cup, cream and sugar dishes have been in several of my previous paintings.  They have been part of my family for many years.

Here are some fun cougar facts I learned while doing research for my cougar paintings. Cougars can not roar.  They purr like a house cat! Cougar cubs have vibrant blue eyes when they born. Around 5 months begin to turn brown. I love the colors of hummingbirds!  I read in Native American culture, hummingbirds are seen as healers and bringers of love, good luck, and joy.

A new JoyEful Party Animals adventure...”Oh Nuts!”©JoyEful Party Animals® Joye DeGoede  We have all had that “double dog (cat) dare you” adventure!

I have a mischievous Harris's antelope squirrel outside my studio.  He is a hoot to watch his antics, bouncing and scurrying around. His facial and body gestures are so expressive. When it gets really hot, I have watched him do a spread eagle on the cool shady ground.  I read this I helps them release the heat from its body to cool him down. It is referred to as heat dumping.

I fell in love with these cougars (fantastic photo reference photo by the talented Gillian Lang ). They just had to be paired with the Harris’s antelope squirrel. Off to another JoyEful Party Animals ®  studio adventure!
